• Fallout New Vegas: Release Dates Announced For Three DLC Packs

Here comes more Fallout: New Vegas, which based on the Old World Blues DLC, just keeps getting better and better.  The fourth DLC, Lonesone Road will be available September 20, 2011 on Xbox Live, PSN and Steam for $9.99 (or 800 MS Points).

In Lonesome Road you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of Fallout: New Vegas. The Caravan Pack, Classic Pack, Mercenary Pack and Tribal Pack each offer unique weapons, apparel and aid advantages that will help you throughout your journey.

Gun Runners’ Arsenal (Xbox LIVE for 320 Microsoft pointsPlayStation Network and Steam for $3.99) increases the range of unique weapons, weapon mods, ammo types and recipes waiting to be uncovered in the vast Mojave Wasteland.

Bethesda has also released some screen-shots showing Lonesome Road as well as some of the weapons in Gun Runners’ Arsenal.  Check ‘em out.

    Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon Announced

Back in April 2011 MTV Networks created 345 Games to create gaming products tied to shows on Comedy Central and Spike TV.  It was said they would be working closely with the creative element of the shows whose IP they will “gamify”.

Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon is the first Comedy Central branded title, only preceded by a Deadliest Warrior sequel.  345 is wasting no time getting titles to market.

”The time has come to pound the pavement and save the earth from impending doom!  345 Games, the video gaming arm of COMEDY CENTRAL and Spike TV, announced today that its upcoming shooter “Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon” will be launching for PlayStation®Network on August 30

and for Xbox LIVE®Arcade August 31 for a retail price of $9.99.   Published by COMEDY CENTRAL Games and developed by Backbone Entertainment, this hilarious game unites the humor and spirit of the popular animated comedy-horror series “Ugly Americans” with classic and addictive dual analog shooting gameplay.  The game features all of the voice actors from the show, a script penned by the show writers and original characters created by the show creator Devin Clark.”

“With four-player top-down co-op gameplay that hearkens back to such classics as Gauntlet and Robotron, “Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon” features four playable characters, each with their own unique abilities, weapons and strengths.  Players must comb the streets of New York City and pacify raving demons, delinquent man birds and zombies by lactating fire or hurling wacky objects like flying demon skulls, fish, baseballs and wrenches.  Investigate case files from the Department of Integration and battle devastating and distinctive bosses at the end of each mission, each bringing you one step closer to finding out who is trying to bring about the end of days!”

Patrick Stewart To Narrate The War Of The Worlds Side-Scroller

The more I hear about the forthcoming side-scroller The War of the Worlds, the more I want to play it.  For a downloadable XBLA and PSN title, Other Ocean Interactive appears to be pulling out all the stops.

Other Ocean Interactive is proud to reveal that Sir Patrick Stewart, the acclaimed TV and film star, will be lending his voice talents to The War of the Worlds, its upcoming cinematic side-scrolling platformer, coming to Xbox LIVE®Arcade and PlayStation®Network. Based on the classic novel by H.G. Wells, The War of the Worlds showcases Stewart’s distinct voice as the narration for the game, which follows one man’s experience in 1950s London during a decimating alien invasion.

If you have not heard about this upcoming title yet, here’s a little more info to whet your appetite.

The War of the Worlds is a dark and breathtaking new vision inspired by the classic H.G. Wells novel, retold as a single player, 2D action-adventure. The gameplay narrative parallels the timeline and events from the 1953 movie adaptation, but introduces a new story arc, characters, locations, and sub-plots.  With gameplay paying homage to classic cinematic platformers such as Flashbackand Out of This World, players follow the exploits of an unknown everyman struggling to escape the Martian invasion of London and rescue his family. Forced to think through insurmountable odds, players will outsmart an army of alien tripods, spiders and drones as they make their way through a landscape of total devastation.

The War of the Worlds will release later in 2011.  Watch Platform Nation for screen shots and more details on a firm release date.
